The business co-operation park that Macao and the province of Jiangsu are building in the Mainland Chinese city of Changzhou will welcome collaboration with the Portuguese-speaking Countries, Jornal Tribuna de Macau reports.

The newspaper quotes an official of the Changzhou city government, Fang Guoqiang, as saying the park is meant to be “an open window” to all Portuguese-speaking cities.

The report says Mr Fang was speaking at a meeting in Lisbon of the União das Cidades Capitais de Língua Portuguesa, the association of capital cities of Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Mr Fang said the association could help form more partnerships between cities in China and Portugal.

Cultural and business events can strengthen Sino-Portuguese friendship, the newspaper quotes Mr Fang as saying.
