Brazil is working to promote itself as a more attractive tourist destination for Chinese travellers, the Mainland government-run CCTV reports.

“We are trying together with the Chinese diplomats in Brazil to promote Brazil as a tourism destination in China,” the broadcaster quoted Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry vice-president Uta Schwietzer as saying.

The report said Brazil was considering waiving visas for visitors from several countries, including the Mainland. Just 53,000 Mainland travellers visited Brazil in 2015. About 120 million Mainland travellers toured overseas that year.
