The National Stadium in Cape Verde could be used to promote the development of table tennis in the country, Cape Verdean news agency Inforpress reported on Saturday.

The report quoted Chinese Ambassador Du Xiaocong at the end of the archipelago’s first table tennis tournament.

Table tennis could be used to promote further exchanges and co-operation in sports and culture between the two nations, he said.

Built with Beijing’s support and by Mainland contractors, the stadium has the facilities to accommodate large national and international events, Mr Du added.
