Brazil posts a record trade surplus with Mainland China for 2016

The trade surplus between Brazil and Mainland China reached a record US$11.77 billion last year, a 140.8-percent increase over the US$4.89 billion result in 2015, the Macauhub website reports.

The report cites data from the Brazilian Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services.

Brazil’s imports from the Mainland were worth US$23.36 billion last year, a decrease of 23.9 percent in year-on-year terms from 2015. Brazil’s exports to the Mainland were worth US$35.13 billion last year, a decrease of 1.3 percent.

Brazil mostly exported raw materials and semi-finished products to the Mainland and imported industrial products.
