Officials from Guangdong province, Macao, Brazil, Mozambique and Portugal have agreed to strengthen co-operation in five key areas, the Macao Daily News reports.

Representatives of legislative bodies met last week in Guangzhou and agreed to strengthen exchanges and visits among their staff, to facilitate economic and commercial co-operation, and to enhance their co-operation in education.

The newspaper reports that each party agreed to deepen the coordination mechanism among their tourism chiefs, as well as to establish a mechanism to track the outcomes of the meeting.

Macao Legislative Assembly President Ho Iat Seng was quoted as saying Macao could play a role in facilitating exchanges, making use of the city’s official languages, including Portuguese.
