China will donate 4.62 million escudos (US$46,726) to construct and renovate schools in Cape Verde, the news agency Inforpress reports.
The pledge was made after Ambassador Du Xiaocong and Miguel Sá Nogueira, the Director of Financial Management and Property Services of Ministry of Education of Cape Verde, toured schools this week.
Mr Nogueira said the money was offered immediately and the embassy was open to additional co-operation.
The cost to construct and renovate the archipelago’s schools has been estimated at 130 million escudos.
