Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$78.420 billion in the period from January to August 2017. It represented a 30.20 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.

Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$55.108 billion to China in the first eight months of 2017 – a rise of 32.21 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$23.312 billion in the same period, up 25.68 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.

The total value of merchandise traded in August between the parties topped US$10.804 billion, up 5.33 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$7.314 billion, an increase of 4.18 percent month-to-month. China sold goods to those countries worth US$3.490 billion in August, up 7.83 percent compared with the previous month.
