Brazil is to host a seminar in Shanghai for Chinese investors, reported Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua.

The event will take place the day before the Group of 20 (G20) Summit in Hangzhou, China, said Carlos Márcio Cozendey, Undersecretary General for Economic and Financial Affairs at the Brazilian Foreign Affairs Ministry, in comments quoted last week. The G20 Summit is on September 4 and 5.

Xinhua’s report also gave more details about China-Brazil deals likely to be concluded on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. The nations are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a China-Brazil fund to finance infrastructure projects in the South American country. They are also likely to sign an MOU on high-level, permanent, mechanisms for co-operation in trade and services, Xinhua said.

Leaders of the BRICS bloc of countries – namely Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – will hold their own meeting in Hangzhou, on the sidelines of the formal Summit, Xinhua reported.
