Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$23.975 billion in the period from January to March 2017. It represented a 43.33 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.

Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$16.898 billion to China in the first three months of 2017 – an increase of 55.27 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$7.077 billion in the same period, up 21.09 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.

The total value of merchandise traded in March between the parties topped US$9.130 billion, up by 37.80 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$6.615 billion, an increase of 31.76 percent month-to-month. China sold goods to those countries worth US$2.516 billion in March, an increase of 56.70 percent compared with the previous month.
