Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$51.500 billion in the period from January to July 2016. It represented a 12.25 percent decline year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.

Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$35.736 billion to China in the first seven months of 2016 – an increase of 0.44 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$15.765 billion in the same period, down 30.84 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.

The total value of merchandise traded in July between the parties topped US$9.809 billion, up by 9.52 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$6.982 billion, an increase of 8.42 percent month-to-month. China sold goods to those countries worth US$2.827 billion in July, up by 12.34 percent compared with the previous month.
