Angola and Mozambique are priority partners in Africa for “production capacity co-operation” with China, said the Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Songtian.
He made his remarks at the 5th Meeting of the China-Africa Think Tank Forum, held in Zhejiang Province of China last week, reported Mozambican newspaper Notícias.
Mr Lin said China would “pool resources to build trade exhibition zones as well as constructing large infrastructure projects such as railways, roads and ports… [and] infrastructure in industrial parks and special economic zones” in African countries where it had partnerships.
“Egypt, Angola and Mozambique would be the priority partners for production capacity co-operation,” he stated. Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and the Republic of Congo would serve as pioneering countries for such co-operation, he added.
“We should seize the opportunities, overcome challenges… to deliver more tangible benefits to the people of China and Africa,” Mr Lin noted.
