As part of cooperation in the health sector, the People's Republic of China decided to train 4 doctors from São Tomé and Príncipe in two critical specialties in the national health system: anesthesiology and Intensive Care.

The specialty course, which will take 3 years, is the result of a direct partnership between the university hospital, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, in China and the Ayres de Menezes Central Hospital.

"For the first time, cooperation between hospitals allows the sending of 4 doctors from São Tomé and Príncipe to one of the best hospitals in China", declared the Chinese ambassador to São Tomé and Príncipe, Xu Yingzhen.

The specialty in intensive care and anesthesiology is an added value for São Tomé and Príncipe, said Olinto boa Morte, one of the 4 doctors.
