China has offered Guinea-Bissau agricultural equipment worth US$2 million, Portuguese newspaper A Bola reported.
“This donation was made under the economic and trade co-operation [agreement] sealed in Bissau on November 4, 2013, between the two Governments,” said Guinea-Bissau’s Secretary of State for Co-operation, Suzi Barbosa, as quoted by the newspaper.
Ms Barbosa also announced China would send 10 technical staff to Guinea-Bissau to teach local workers how to maintain buildings China has constructed there. The initiative follows a request by the African nation.
The Guinean Secretary of State also thanked China’s Government for what she described as “a noble gesture”.
