After meeting with the Chinese ambassador on the 16th of August at the Esmeraldas Palace, Governor Ronaldo Caiado (UB) announced that three companies from the Asian country have confirmed their interest in setting up in Goiás. They are Chint Power, an energy solutions company; YTO Group Corporation, a tractor manufacturer; and Weichai Group, an electric motor manufacturer, which are expected to land in the municipalities of Itumbiara and Aparecida de Goiânia.
Joel de Sant'Anna Braga Filho, Secretary of Industry, Trade and Services, said that China was interested in other municipalities in Goiás.
"Chinese companies are also prospecting in the state to manufacture electric cars in Catalão, and to set up a battery factory. So Goiás should be a great gateway for expanding business between China and Brazil," he said.
