China’s FDI rises 7.1 pct in Sept

Foreign direct investment (FDI) to China in September increased 7.1 percent in year-on-year terms to 59.47 billion yuan (US$9.56 billion), the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday.

In the first nine months of 2015, FDI jumped 9 percent year-on-year to US$94.9 billion, the ministry noted.

It highlighted in a statement that FDI inflows into the high-tech service industry and high-tech manufacturing industry maintained “a rising trend”.

In the January-September period, the service sector in China attracted FDI of US$57.99 billion, up by 19.2 percent from a year earlier. FDI to the high-tech services industry surged 57.6 percent year-on-year to US$6.16 billion

The high-tech manufacturing sector drew FDI of US$7 billion in the first nine months of 2015, up 10.4 percent from the same period last year, compared to an increase of 0.7 percent in the overall manufacturing industry.
