The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) authorized, in the first two months of 2023 alone, over 90 companies to export corn to China. Now the list to export the product to the Asian country has 446 Brazilian companies.

Corn exports from Brazil continue to rise in 2023. According to government data in January of this year, Brazilian corn exports rose 167% compared to the same month last year, with the Asian country absorbing 15% of the Brazilian supply.

According to an agreement signed in 2022, Mapa registers Brazilian companies that meet the requirements determined by China for the export of corn. After registration in Brazil, the Ministry sends the General Administration of Customs of China the list of qualified companies and after confirmation by the Chinese side, companies can ship the grain to that country.
