The Chinese Government is pleased with the progress of its relations and exchanges with Angola, said China’s Ambassador to the country, Gao Kexiang.
Mr Gao – who will soon finish his four-year tenure in the African nation – made his remarks on Thursday, after meeting with the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos.
Beijing was “satisfied by the good level of bilateral relations promoted in the fields of economy, trade, culture and others for the benefit of [the people in the two nations],” said the diplomat, as quoted by Angolan news agency Angop.
Mr Gao stressed the importance of exchanges and visits held at the highest level.
Mr dos Santos visited China in June and both countries sealed several co-operation agreements.
The outgoing Chinese Ambassador also met with Fernando Dias dos Santos, President of Angola’s National Assembly, earlier this week, and noted China was eager to enhance inter-parliamentary co-operation with the African nation.
