On the 12th of May, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, inaugurated the water collection, treatment and distribution system, built by China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co. Ltd in the town of Quissol, 12 kilometers east of the city of Malanje.
This infrastructure has the capacity to produce 720 cubic meters of water per hour. The infrastructure includes reservoirs, pipelines, electromechanical equipment and administrative areas. The collection system has made it possible to make 12 thousand new household connections in the town centre, in the neighborhoods of Canâmbua, Maxinde, Carreira de tiro, Vila Matilde, and Cangambo.
Budgeted at US$31.237 million, financed by a credit line from China, the plant aims to reinforce the water supply system in the city of Malanje. The works of the Quissol water collection, treatment and distribution system started in September 2017 and ended in April this year.
