A Chinese-funded cement factory in Mozambique will be ready for production by the end of this year, the Chinese Embassy in the African country said in a statement.
The embassy stated China’s Ambassador to Mozambique Li Chunhua visited the plant over the weekend to inspect the construction progress.
The factory is located in the Matutuíne district, in southern Mozambique. Its maximum daily output will be 5,000 tons. Hong Kong-based China International Fund Ltd is investing more than US$200 million in the project, the statement added.
The factory will be “the largest” and “most advanced” cement factory in Mozambique, the embassy added.
