On May 9, a delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led by Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng, attended the 2023 Global Investment Promotion Conference in Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin (“Cooperation Zone”) to strengthen ties and exchanges with mainland enterprises.

The 2023 Global Investment Promotion Conference was held at the Hyatt Regency Hengqin in the morning of May 9, and the representatives of key institutions in the Cooperation Zone, global investment partners and investment ambassadors, as well as the representatives of different enterprises attended the Conference. The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin is a new high ground for promoting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“Greater Bay Area”), with four key strategic positioning and a series of favorable policies, it will bring more investment opportunities for cooperation between enterprises from all over the world.

Members of the Permanent Secretariat were able to gain a better understanding of the business environment in the Cooperation Zone and even the mainland by participating in the economic and trade activities of the Global Investment Promotion Conference. In the future, in line with Macao’s “1+4” Adequate Economic Diversification Strategy, the Permanent Secretariat will implement the relevant initiatives announced at the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting and actively encourage China and Portuguese-speaking Countries to expand economic and trade ties with the Greater Bay Area by making use of Macao’s platform.
