The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese information and communications technology company HUAWEI presented the “ilumina Angola” project in Bié on February 17.

HUAWEI's social responsibility project aims to bring digitalization and connectivity to rural and remote regions of the country, as well as promoting technological inclusion and access to essential services.

According to the Bié government on Facebook, during the meeting with the region's top official, Celeste Adolfo, the HUAWEI representative said that the project plans to donate technological energy and internet packages to places with a low level of development in the province.

“Illuminate Angola” will also support family farming with the use of technology and the protection of the source of the River Kwanza to promote tourism. He also stressed that the next step would be to carry out fact-finding visits to at least three locations in order to launch the initiative in three months' time and pointed out that it had already been implemented in the province of Kwanza-Norte, in the town of Maria Teresa.
