On December 22, the Association of the Chinese Community of Recife Brazil (ACCRB), in partnership with the Legion of Good Will (LBV), held an important charity event at the LBV's Community Social Assistance Center, located in Recife. The event included the donation of food and more toys for 220 socially vulnerable children assisted by the institution.
The occasion was attended by the Chinese consul in Recife, Lan Heping, that stressed the importance of actions that strengthen the bonds of solidarity and collaboration between the two countries. Lan said that this is the bridge to a shared future between China and Brazil, building a more sustainable world and investing in children, who are the future.
Apart from handing out toys, the event also distributes food baskets to the families served by the institution. The children, aged between 6 and 15, take part in various socio-educational activities promoted by the LBV, including cultural workshops, leisure, sport class and other actions that strengthen community bonds.
