Mozambique universities seek smart agriculture partnerships with China

The rectors of the universities of UEM and UP-Maputo recently visited the Jinhua Academy of Agricultural Sciences in China in order to gain more experience in smart agriculture and to promote innovation and scientific collaboration.


On the occasion, Jorge Ferrão from the UP-Maputo and Manuel Guilherme from the UEM discussed the possibilities of partnership and scientific cooperation aimed at developing smart agriculture technologies and practices, with the support of the Jinhua academy.


During the meeting, the Mozambican authorities and the Chinese academy discussed joint research projects that could be implemented in the context of sustainable agriculture in Mozambique, with a focus on advanced cultivation techniques and environmental conservation. The proposal aims to foster the exchange of technical and technological knowledge between the institutions, allowing Mozambican universities and Chinese academia to develop studies focused on solutions to the African Continent's agrarian challenges.
