On November 13, the Government of Rio Grande do Norte and the China Agricultural University (CAU) inaugurated the first Technological Residence for Family Farming Mechanization in Latin America in Apodi, Brazil. The project aims to promote the transfer of technologies aimed at family farming in the semi-arid region.
A Chinese delegation, led by the Vice-Rector Wang Qingjie of CAU, arrived in the state of Rio Grande do Norte on the 12th and was received by Governor Fátima Bezerra in Natal. During the visit, there were demonstrations of equipment and meetings with local farmers, promoting direct contact between Chinese researchers and family farmers in Brazil.
The governor of Rio Grande do Norte stressed the importance of the project for the state, saying that it is a major step towards the development of family farming and the rural economy in Rio Grande do Norte.
