On October 22, at a meeting held at Suframa, the BYD Indústria de Baterias Ltda. announced their new investments in the Manaus Industrial Complex (PIM). The company's representatives announced that they will expand the plant with a line for the production of blades, which represent the new generation of battery modules and will be used in the manufacture of electric buses.
At the meeting, a new busbar production line was also announced to serve to the factories located in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), in São Paulo and in the new factory of Bahia, which produces electric light vehicles.
Bosco Saraiva, the superintendent of Suframa, emphasized the Chinese company's commitment to the environmental sustainability, saying that BYD is bringing the most modern electrification technology to Manaus in Brazil, which will directly contribute to the Brazilian population, especially as it will also help to decarbonize mobility in the country.
