Around 25 young São Tomeses who participated in a seminar on "youth leadership" in China, specifically in the city of Changsha, Hunan province, from May 29th to June 11th, returned to the country and made a positive assessment of the exchange during a meeting with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in São Tomé and Príncipe, Xu Yingzhen, in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Euridice Medeiros.

"We were able to have the opportunity to see how young people from the Communist League in China did important work that helped People's China get out of poverty towards the development they are achieving there," said one of the participants.

During their participation in the seminar in China, young people from São Tomé also visited other cities such as Shanghai and Suzhou.

According to the Chinese ambassador, since the re-establishment of China-STP diplomatic relations, the Chinese government has already offered scholarships to more than 200 São Tomé students and invited around 60 people to participate in seminars for youth in China.
