BYD Portugal expects to achieve sales of 2,500 cars this year. It is the best-selling Chinese electric car brand in Portugal.

The brand is the seventh best-selling on the national market between January and May, with 715 units, a figure that contrasts with its 41 counterparts (it had just been launched), now occupying a share of almost 5% of the market, according to data from Automobile Association of Portugal (ACAP).

In the scenario of selling 2,500 units this year, BYD would finish in third place in the sales ranking, taking into account the values recorded in 2023.

Despite the target of 2,500 units, the brand has some apprehension regarding possible price movements that will be defined by the parent company – based in Shenzen, in southern China – for the entire European market.
