China will invest 100 million dollars in the health sector in Brazil

The Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin, is on an official schedule during his visit to China. On June 5, in a meeting with representatives of the Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac, an investment of 100 million dollars was announced in developing cell therapy and local production of vaccines and monoclonal antibodies in Brazil.


The Vice President of Brazil and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin, released the announcement on social media.


Furthermore, Sinovac and the Brazilian Fiocruz announced their intention to cooperate in the research and development of vaccines to combat health crises. The vice-president celebrated the partnership and recalled that the Chinese giant had already collaborated with the Butatan Institute.


“Science helps the world, and we have to advance even further; we have to work together, which is why I welcome Sinovac’s willingness to invest in Brazil”, stated the vice-president.
