On April 28, Air China resumed its flight between Beijing, China, and São Paulo, via Guarulhos Airport. With a stopover in Madrid, Spain, the flights are operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which have capacity for 293 passengers. The operation, which takes place twice a week, was suspended three years ago due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Today, to fly from São Paulo to Beijing, travelers from Brazil have to make connections in more than one destination, changing planes in places such as Africa, the Middle East and Europe, which makes the journey take close to or more than 30 hours.

With the return of the Air China flight, this journey time will be reduced to 22 hours and 25 minutes, as the route has a single stop in the Spanish capital. Even so, this is the longest flight made with the same Boeing 787 aircraft.
