A visit by the chief minister of the Economic and Commercial Department of the Chinese Embassy, Shao Yingjun, was made to the Governorate of Mato Grosso do Sul on February 22nd. On the occasion, the vice governor of the State gave a presentation on the potential of Mato Grosso do Sul, with the State's good numbers and projects such as the Rota Bioceânica and the new Ferroeste.
A Brazilian representative expressed the intention to expand trade in products, mainly through the Bioceanic Route, which is still under construction. “The Chinese are our biggest buyers of soybeans and grains. We want to expand this trade, with the sale of more meat, cellulose, among others,” he stated.
“We are very interested in prospecting new businesses and expanding trade with Mato Grosso do Sul. Our presence here today demonstrates our desire to work more with this state," said the minister. Before concluding, Shao Yingjun invited representatives of the MS Government to publicize the potential of Mato Grosso do Sul to investors from China during a trip to that country.
