BYD SkyRail stated in a note to the website that the first monorail train that will operate on Line 17 should arrive in Brazil by June this year.
The compositions have been manufactured in China for some time but have not yet been sent to Brazil for various reasons. The contract provides 14 trains for the first phase of Line 17, between Congonhas Airport and Morumbi station.
According to the company, the train will go through a commissioning phase after its arrival and then on-track testing will begin.
In addition to the 14 trains, BYD Skyrail is responsible for implementing systems and equipment such as AMVs (track changing devices), the first of which has already been installed at the Água Espraiada yard. The entire line should have 36 sets of AMVs.
