On the first day of the World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC-23) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Brazil's Ministry of Communications (MCom) took part in meetings to discuss the occupation of the 6 GHz band and the spectrum for the 6th generation of International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) systems on 20 November.
The agenda included a meeting between the Minister of Communications, Juscelino Filho, and China's Vice-Minister of Telecommunications, Zhang Yunming, as well as a meeting with representatives from Huawei.
"This afternoon we met with the Chinese delegation and representatives from Huawei to discuss the use of specific bands such as 6 GHz and also new technologies such as HAPs (high altitude platforms). We're taking part in technical meetings so that we can make the best use of our spectrum and we're going to discuss these issues with various countries," said the Minister of Communications, Juscelino Filho.
