Retailer Shein has now reached 336 partner suppliers for its local production strategy to serve the Brazilian market. In response to the government's later abandoned plan to tax international shipments of parcels under US$50, the company has committed to having 2,000 manufacturing partners in Brazil and investing R$750 million over a three-year period.

The target also involves, according to the company, creating 100,000 direct and indirect jobs in the country and having 85 per cent of sales made in Brazil related to locally manufactured products by the end of 2026.

The 336 partner factories are located in 12 states. So far, 213 of them already operate on Shein's business model, which is known for bringing innovations in the launch and acceptance tests of each garment, based on artificial intelligence.
