The Mozambican President, Filipe Nyusi, inaugurated on the 28th of September, in Maputo the Mozambique-China Cultural Center, the second largest of its kind built by Chinese contractors in Africa, with 20 thousand square meters.

According to information from the Mozambican Ministry of Culture and Tourism, this center has several rooms for theater, musical shows, and corporate events, a large auditorium with capacity for 1,500 seats, as well as studios and rehearsal rooms for music, dance, and exhibition halls for arts and crafts.

The project, whose opening was scheduled for 2021, later conditioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, was built by China on the main campus of Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo. To this end, the two countries signed an agreement in 2015 in which China financed the construction with 50 million dollars.
