The Portuguese Embassy in Beijing put on a gala to introduce more Chinese to the Portuguese beer Super Bock, Sina reports.
The news website says the gala, part of the Portugal Day celebrations, drew dozens of representatives of Chinese hotels, restaurants, trading enterprises and news media.
The report quotes Portuguese Ambassador to China José Augusto Duarte as saying the brewer, Super Bock Group, is among the many world-class enterprises in his country.
Super Bock Group Executive President Rui Lopes Ferreira told the gathering that his company had sold 306 million litres of Super Bock last year, one-third of it abroad, and that China had bought most of its exports.
He said the company had over 5,000 outlets in 50 Chinese cities.
Super Bock Group is now endeavouring to better acquaint Chinese with its brand, Sina quotes the executive as saying.
