The Subcommittee on Environment and Climate Change was created within the scope of the Sino-Brazilian High Level Commission for Concertation and Cooperation (COSBAN) on the 19th of September.
The Minister of the Environment, Marina Silva signed the act together with the Vice Minister of Ecology and Environment of China, Zhao Yingmin.
Marina Silva was accompanied by the MMA's national secretary of Climate Change, Ana Toni, and the Itamaraty's secretary of Climate, Energy and Environment, André Corrêa do Lago. The creation of the subcommittee was agreed upon during a visit by a Brazilian delegation to China in April.
On the occasion, the countries celebrated broad cooperation in energy transition, forest protection, commodity traceability and combating environmental crimes, among other measures.
