About 100 Brazilians and Chinese were on hand in the Brazilian city of São Paulo to see a flash mob pop up in the street and demonstrate aspects of Chinese culture, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency says the Brazil-Beijing Cultural Exchange Association was among the organisers of the flash mob.
The report says the flash mob put on dragon and lion dances, a display of children’s folk dancing, performances of Chinese traditional music and a demonstration of wushu.
The event spread Chinese culture and brought together the peoples of China and Brazil, the report quotes the head of the association, Zhao Yongping, as saying.
The flash mob celebrated 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China and 45 years since the People’s Republic of China and Brazil established diplomatic relations, Xinhua quotes Chinese Consul-General in São Paulo Chen Peijie as saying.
