Recife research centre to study development in China, Brazil

The Chinese Consulate-General in the Brazilian city of Recife has announced that the branch of the Confucius Institute at the University of Pernambuco there has opened a centre for research into social and economic development in China and Brazil.

The consulate-general issued a written announcement saying the centre is meant to attract renowned Brazilian academics to advise their fellow academics, businesspeople and officials in China and Brazil about development, and to increase Sino-Brazilian academic exchanges and collaboration.

The announcement quotes Chinese Consul-General in Recife Yan Yuqing as expressing Chinese willingness to work with Brazil on matters to do with development.
