Chinese exports in first 10 months grow to US$1.87 trln

Official data indicate that the value in renminbi of Chinese exports rose to 12.41 trillion yuan (US$1.87 trillion) in the first 10 months of this year, 11.7 percent more than in the equivalent period last year, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese state-controlled news agency, citing figures given by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, says the value in renminbi of Chinese imports in the first 10 months rose by 21.5 percent to 10.11 trillion yuan.

The report quotes a customs spokesman as saying: “China’s imports and exports witnessed rapid growth in the first 10 months.”

The value in renminbi of the Chinese trade surplus in the first 10 months fell by 17.8 percent to 2.3 trillion yuan, Xinhua says.
