China imported crude oil from Angola at an average rate of about 984,500 barrels per day last month, nearly 28 percent faster than a year earlier, Reuters reports.

The news agency, citing Chinese General Administration of Customs data, says only Russia exported more oil to China last month, shipping it at an average rate of 1.04 million bpd.

China imported oil at an average rate of only about 8 million bpd last month, more slowly than in any month since January, because some Chinese oil refineries were shut down for longer than expected, Reuters says.
