Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed willingness to co-operate with newly elected Angolan President João Lourenço in developing the Sino-Angolan strategic partnership, Angop reports.

The Angolan news agency, quoting a message from Mr Xi congratulating Mr Lourenço on being elected, says the Chinese president considers Angola an important partner of China.

Mr Xi Jinping stressed what he called the “high mutual political trust” between China and Angola, and their co-operation in various fields.

The Chinese president said he attached “great importance” to the development of Sino-Angolan relations, according to Angop.
