Representatives of China and Brazil will probably sign next month an agreement allowing each other’s citizens multiple-entry visas valid for five years, Brazilian Ambassador to China Marcos Caramuru de Paiva has said.

Mr Paiva said in an interview broadcast by Chinese government-run television network CCTV that such visas would mean greater convenience for Chinese tourists and businessmen visiting Brazil, and for Brazilian tourists and businessmen visiting China.

The ambassador said the agreement would probably be signed early next month, when Brazilian President Michel Temer visits China.

About 6.6 million tourists visited Brazil last year, 4.8 percent more than the year before, generating US$6.2 billion of tourism revenue.
