A conference on economic relations between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries will be held in Lisbon tomorrow, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency says the conference will discuss the capitalisation and other forms of financing for companies in the Portuguese-speaking Countries, and investment in infrastructure meant to link those economies more closely.

The report quotes the president of the Jorge Álvares Foundation in Portugal, Garcia Leandro – who was once the governor of Macao – as saying Portugal could play an important role in helping the Mainland better understand Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa.

The Jorge Álvares Foundation is one of the partners of the conference, which is organized by Universidade de Lisboa’s Institute of Social and Political Sciences.
