The government of Angola is seeking the help of China and the Angolan private sector in paying for the conversion of the Angolan television system from analogue to digital, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency cited an order issued by the Angolan president last month, saying the conversion should cost more than US$386 million but work is running late because money is short.

The report says the conversion work was due to be completed in 117 municipalities by June.

The news agency reported last year that China had given Angola a US$5.2 billion line of credit for 155 development projects.
