China and the Portuguese autonomous region of Azores are looking to enhance co-operation regarding the dairy sector, Portuguese news agency Lusa reports.
“There are several issues under discussion, one of which is related to dairy products. We are working in this direction and hope to achieve good results,” Azores Regional Government President Vasco Cordeiro was quoted as saying.
Mr Cordeiro’s comments were made on Tuesday, after meeting Premier Li Keqiang on Terceira Island.
Mr Li stopped over on his return from Cuba. He also had a short meeting with Portugal’s Foreign Affairs Minister Augusto Santos Silva, Lusa reported.
The meetings were scheduled ahead of an official tour to China by Portuguese leaders next month. Mr Li said he hoped cooperation in energy, finance and maritime issues would continue and be expanded, the Xinhua news agency reported.
