Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries close to US$68 bln in January-August

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$67.84 billion in the period from January to August 2015. It represented a 24.68 percent decline year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.


Goods worth US$25.85 billion were sold by China to Portuguese-speaking Countries in the first eight months of 2015 – a drop of 10.96 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise imports from those countries reached US$41.99 billion in the same period, down 31.20 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.


The total value of merchandise traded in August between the parties topped US$9.15 billion, down by 13.48 percent from the previous month.


China sold goods to Portuguese-speaking Countries worth US$3.05 billion in August, a decline of 6.30 percent compared with July. The value of China’s merchandise imports from those countries reached US$6.10 billion, down by 16.68 percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data.
