Haishan Group International, one of the largest private Chinese construction firms in Angola, is investing more than US$800,000 to repair a trunk road in the province of Luanda, Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua reported last week.
Heavy rains have recently damaged the 12-kilometre Camama expressway. Haishan has deployed 14 workers to repair more than 400 metres of the trunk road.
It was part of the company’s efforts to ‘give back’ to Angolan society, the company told Xinhua.
Haishan, which entered the Angolan market in 2006, currently employs more than 1,000 Angolan workers on various social housing construction projects in the African nation, the report said.
