The official uniforms – made by a Chinese firm – for staff and volunteers at the Rio 2016 Olympics were unveiled last week in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Chinese newspaper China Daily reported.
Chinese sportswear firm 361° is a sponsor and official supporter of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, offering uniforms for the 87,000-strong workforce. It is the first Chinese firm to provide staff uniforms for the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games, the report said.
“The choice and recognition of Rio 2016 Organizing Committee help us to increase further the recognition of our brand,” said Ding Wuhao, executive director of the firm. He added: “361° is committed to promoting the development of sports worldwide. We hope to take this opportunity to let sports fans from around the world understand China’s sports products and brands.”
More than 2 million pieces of the uniform – including shirts, trousers, jackets, and bags – were produced. It would take 45 days for them to be shipped from China to the South American nation, China Daily reported.
