A new centre to speed the processing of applications by Angolans for visas to visit China was launched last week, the Angolan news agency Angop reported.

Technology outsourcing firm VFS Global runs the centre in partnership with the Chinese Embassy to Angola. The centre is located in Luanda, the capital of the African nation.

The aim of the centre was to make the application procedures faster and more effective, thereby contributing to the development of trade and tourism between China and Angola, the news agency reported.

According to the official website of VFS Global, the company manages administrative and non-discretionary matters related to visa, passport and other citizen services for governments worldwide, enabling them to focus entirely on the assessment process.

VFS Global has provided services for the Chinese Government since 2008, Angop said.
