The Chinese Government has provided a credit line worth 60 million kwanzas (US$375,523) for developing energy-related projects in Angola’s Huila province, Angolan news agency Angop reported.
The provincial director of Energy and Water, Abel João da Costa, made the announcement on Monday. He explained — as quoted by the media outlet — the projects are aimed at improving energy supply in the region.
According to Mr da Costa, China’s credit line will also contribute to funding a drinking water supply project in Huila province.
The provincial director added that projects resulting from Sino-Angolan partnership would be able to minimise some of the social and economic problems affecting the African nation, Angop reported.
